Privacy policy
Last updated October 10, 2026
SHOWCASE runs work tests for companies that are hiring. This policy explains what we collect when you take a test, why, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who is responsible
The company you applied to (the “hiring company”) decides to use SHOWCASE and decides what happens with your application. SHOWCASE runs the test and stores the results on the hiring company’s behalf, following its instructions. In privacy-law terms, the hiring company is the controller or business, and SHOWCASE is its processor or service provider.
You can contact either of us about your data. To reach SHOWCASE, email wittman.c@gmail.com.
What we collect
| What | When |
|---|---|
| Your name, email, and where you are | When you open the test link |
| Everything you do in the test: your messages to Claude and its replies, files you open or make, terminal activity, your answer, and your notes | During the test |
| Activity signals: when you leave the test tab and for how long, and when you paste text and how long it is | During the test, if the hiring company turned them on. You’re told before you start. |
| Camera and microphone recording | Only if the hiring company requires or allows it, and only after you agree |
| Your accommodation request and the reason you give | Only if you ask for more time or no camera |
| Optional demographic information | Only where a bias audit requires it (for example New York City), and only if you choose to give it |
| Your IP address and browser details | To keep the service secure and prevent abuse |
How we use it
- To run your test and give the hiring company your work.
- To draft an assessment. An AI model reads your work and your chats with Claude and drafts a summary of how you worked with AI, with a level from L1 to L5 and the reasons. It does not analyze your video, face, voice, or emotions. A person at the hiring company reviews the draft and makes every decision. Where the law gives you the right, you can choose a review by a person only, with no AI assessment.
- To check fairness. Demographic information, if you give it, is stored separately, used only in aggregate to check that results don’t differ unfairly between groups, and never shown to reviewers or to the AI.
- To keep the service secure and to fix problems.
We don’t sell your data, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t use it to train AI models. We don’t use your test for any company other than the one you applied to.
Who sees it
- The hiring company’s team reviewing your application.
- Service providers that help us run the test, under contracts that limit how they use it:
- Anthropic, which provides Claude (the assistant in your test and the model that drafts the assessment)
- Daytona, which runs the private, temporary workspace your test happens in
- Railway, which hosts SHOWCASE and stores test records
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
Your data is stored and processed in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Camera and microphone recordings: up to 365 days, unless the hiring company sets a shorter period.
- Your test and its assessment: as long as hiring laws where you are require the hiring company to keep application records, then deleted.
- Deletion requests: we act on them within 30 days. If a law requires us to keep a record (for example during a legal claim), we keep only that record and tell you.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- get a copy of your data
- correct it
- delete it
- object to or limit how it’s used
- ask for a person to review an automated assessment, and get an explanation of how it works
- complain to your local data protection authority
To use any of these, email wittman.c@gmail.com with the email address you used for the test. We’ll confirm it’s you before we act. Asking won’t affect your application.
You choose whether to take the test. You can ask for accommodations, like more time or no camera, on the screen before you start.
Security
Each test runs in its own private workspace that’s deleted when the test ends. Data is encrypted in transit. Only the hiring company’s reviewers and a small number of SHOWCASE staff can see test records, and only to run the service.
Children
SHOWCASE is for job applicants and isn’t meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you’ve already given us, we’ll tell you first.
